In 1987, Alfa Chemicals Manufacturing Est. was established as the first manufacturer of drilling foam in the Middle East, afterwards it expanded its operations into manufacturing household detergents and personal care products. Through the years, Alfa managed to keep its good reputation due to its continuous research and development efforts which are led by the best in the field technicians and its excellent relation with the major raw materials, perfumes and natural additives  international companies. Alfa is distinguished by its founder, who holds a PhD in Organic chemistry and with long experience as a professor of organic industries at Jordan University of Science and Technology .

Dr. Bassam Bitar graduated from the University of Jordan in 1976 and obtained a master's degree in organic chemistry and then a doctorate In Industrial Chemistry from Ulm Technical University, West Germany
